Dr. Andre May MD, CCFP(EM) ________________________________________________________________________________Andre May completed a BSc.Med and MD at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1995. He then completed a Family Medicine residency (CCFP) with special competence in Emergency Medicine (CCFP(EM)) through Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He has been on staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ontario since 1999, practicing Emergency Medicine. Other medical practices include the Huronia Urgent Care Clinic and a methadone practice for addiction at the OATC clinic in Barrie. He has been practicing chronic pain management since 2008.
Dr. Doug Austgarden B.Sc, MD, FRCPC
Dr. Doug Austgarden earned his bachelor degree in 1991 from the University of Victoria. He then earned his medical doctorate from University of British Columbia graduating in 1995. He went on to complete a Royal College Emergency Medicine residency in 2000 and a fellowship in Critical Care in 2001 at McMaster University. He is a member of the Deparment of Emergency Medicine and Clinical Director of the Division of Critical Care at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie. He has been practising chronic pain since 2006.
Dr. Chris Giorshev MD, MBA, CCFP(EM), FCFP, DAAPM, DCAPM, CPE
Dr. Giorshev completed his medical school training at the University of Toronto in 1991. He then finished a residency program at the University of Western Ontario in family medicine, with a special competence in emergency medicine. He is a board certified physician executive with the American Academy of Physician Executives and has completed his masters in business administration (MBA) with the University of Massachusetts. He is also a fellow with the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Dr. Giorshev is board certified in pain management with both the American Academy of Pain Managemet and the Canadian Academy of Pain Management and is a board member of the Canadian Academy of Pain Management. He is also a member of the Canadian Pain Society. In addition, Dr. Giorshev is the chair of the Ontario Medical Associantion's section on chronic pain.
Dr. Paul Hoogeveen BSc, MD, CCFP(EM), FCFP, DAAPM
Dr. Paul Hoogeveen graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 1993 and has practiced Emergency Medicine and Prehospital Care, Medical Resident and Student Education, Administration, Medical Direction and Chronic Pain Care since 1995. He has focused on treatment of Chronic Pain Patients since 2005/06. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Managment. He is currently a Chronic Pain Consultant and Educator at The Simcoe Clinic in Barrie, Ontario. Caroline Kargel, MD, CCFP(EM)
Dr. Kargel received her Bachelor of Science in physiology at the University of Toronto in 1994. She went on to study medicine at Queen’s University, finishing her MD degree in 1997. She completed a residency in family and emergency medicine at McMaster University in 2000. She has had a practice in chronic pain since 2007. Prior to this her focus was emergency medicine
